Georgia Godwin

Arguably one of Australia’s hottest gymnastics prospects right now - Gold Coast native Georgia Godwin may well become one of the country’s main WAG hopes in Rio on current form.

Having secured consecutive national All-Around titles in Junior competition in 2010 and 2011, Godwin has now achieved the feat in the Senior category – taking out the 2015 title along with her 2014 title. Godwin was also able to take gold in the Beam final, winning by a commanding 0.875 points.

Godwin also secured her first International All-Around title in 2014 when she placed first in both the Team and the All around at the Nadia Comaneci Invitational International in Oklahoma.

Godwin was one of the team members that was selected to represent Australia at the prestigious Elite Gym Massilia event in France, in 2016, where she qualified for the floor finals, finishing in 5th place. To consolidate her string of performances, Georgia was able to take home the silver medal for floor at her first World Cup held on home turf , in 2017.

Barring injury, Godwin will be highly considered to compete at her first Commonowealth Games 2018 given her run of form since the start of 2014.

Georgia is now preparing for the World Championships Trials, with the goal to be a part of the Women's Artistic Gymnastics team heading to Montreal, Canada, in September 2017, which will be her second World Championships.
