Georgia Godwin

One of Australia’s hottest gymnastics prospects right now, Gold Coast native Georgia Godwin is one of our main medal chances for her home Commonwealth Games next month.

Having secured consecutive Australian All-Around titles in Junior competition in 2010 and 2011, Godwin has now replicated that feat in the Senior category – taking out the 2014-15 titles. Her 2015 win also included and Apparatus Gold on Beam, with a commanding routine that was almost a full point better than the second-place score.

Godwin secured her first International title’s in 2014 when she placed first in both the Team and the All-Around at the Nadia Comaneci Invitational International in Oklahoma.

She was one of the team members that was selected to represent Australia at the prestigious Elite Gym Massilia event in France, in 2016, where she qualified for the floor finals, finishing in 5th place.

To further consolidate her string of strong international performances, Georgia was able to take home the Silver medal for floor in front of a home crowd at the Melbourne World Cup, early in 2017.

After overcoming an injury setback later that year, Godwin represented Australia at her second World Championships in Montreal, where she put on in outstanding performance to place 13th overall, an extraordinary achievement for Georgia and, in turn, for Australian Gymnastics.
