Team Future Camps for RG and TRP
Over 60 athletes, with their coaches, converged on Canberra from June 16 to 19 for the first Team Future Camps for 2016 in Rhythmic (RG) and Trampoline Gymnastics (TRP).
Invitations for Team Future camps are based on athlete’s progression along the IDEAL Skills Curriculum, by tracking through the Virtual Athlete Tracker.
Team Future camps focus on both non-technical and technical aspects, so that development back in the home training environment is optimised. The Keynote presentation for the June camps was ‘Effective Communication for Coaches’.
Physical testing is also a key component for training camps. The winners were:
TRP - Holly Kerslake & Liam Christie (both of Castle Hill RSL Gymnastics).

The Team Future Award for Apparatus accuracy:

The Team Future Award for body flexibility and strength:
10yrs = Sophie Del Popolo
11yrs = Isabella Wang and Shona Gibson
12yrs = Polly Deane-John, Tahlia Stewart and Brio Dos Santos-Lee
13yrs = Jordana Shillington
Overall physical testing award for RG Team Future was Jordana Shillington.
The next TRP Team Future camp will be held in Bendigo immediately after National Clubs Carnival. The next RG Team Future camp will be in Canberra in December. You can see an updated schedule
