2017 Australian Masters Games
Gymnastics took centre stage on the final day of the 16th edition of the Australian Masters Games, with Zodiacs Gymnastics Club in Burnie playing host to the event on Saturday 28 October.
The Australian Masters Games is a biennial sporting event that is regarded as one of the premier and largest participation sporting events on the Australian sporting landscape. In the 2017 event, over 6,000 athletes participated across more than 40 different sports.
The Australian Masters Games provides an opportunity to make the wider community aware of the benefits of sports participation, as well as encourages and engages the Masters sporting demographic in ongoing activity that is beneficial to their long term health and wellbeing.
In 2017 a record 56 participants entered the Gymnastics competition at the Australian Masters Games, with competitors from 20 to 72 years of age competing in both the Open and Masters categories.
The 17th edition of the Australian Masters Games will be held in 2019 in Adelaide, South Australia.
