Ten former gymnasts to represent Australia in PyeongChang


We all know that Gymnastics is THE ultimate foundation sport and essential in developing essential fundamental movement skills in all Australians, but did you know that starting in Gymnastics can also lead to excelling in other sports or careers?

With the Australian Olympic Committee announcing overnight the 50-member team that will represent Australia at the 2018 Winter Olympic Games in PyeongChang - starting TODAY! - an incredible 1 members of this team are former gymnasts – that’s 22% of the Australian Winter Olympic Team!



Congratulations to the following former gymnasts who have been selected to compete in PyeongChang in 10 events across four disciplines:

Greta Small – Alpine Skiing (super-g, super combined, downhill, giant slalom, slalom)
David Mari – Bobsleigh (2man, 4man)
Laura Peel – Freestyle Skiing (aerials skiing)
Danielle Scott – Freestyle Skiing (aerials skiing)
Samantha Wells – Freestyle Skiing (aerials skiing)
Lydia Lassila – Freestyle Skiing (aerials skiing)
Dave Morris – Freestyle Skiing (aerials skiing)
Madii Himbury – Freestyle Skiing (mogul skiing)
Holly Crawford – Snowboard (halfpipe)
Scotty James – Snowboard (halfpipe)
Belle Brockhoff - Snowboard (snowboard cross)
