2014 IDEAL Skills points club announced

Following the recent IDP Clinic in Canberra the IDEAL Skills 1000 point club and the IDEAL Skills 1500 point club have been announced. In addition, coaching highlight videos are now also available.
To be eligible for the ‘IDEAL Skills 1000 points club’ the gymnasts need to be aged between 10 and 11 years and have achieved 1000 points on the IDEAL Skills test on any apparatus. For the ‘1500 point club’, the gymnasts are aged 12 years or older and need to score 1500 points or more, on any apparatus. These gymnasts are meeting the national standard expected on the IDEAL Skills test. Well done to those girls who have made the list and keep working hard girls to achieve the benchmark scores on your next round of IDEAL testing.

Congratulations also go to the Physical Test Champions from the May IDP Clinic for each group.
Five highlights videos from the IDP Clinic have also been released:
• Dance video: Following in IDP Clinic tradition watch the gymnasts perform their dance combination that they learned during the clinic with Choreographer – Stacey Umeh. Enjoy!
• Two videos outlining the areas on bars that the girls worked on at Camp– with VIS coach David Kenwright. Bars Video 1 - cast and kips; Bars Video 2 breaks down the use of wrist straps when learning circle skills and release drills.
• Tuck salto twisting is covered on the Beam video – with National coach Peggy Liddick
• The Tumbling video covers basics and twisting – with WAIS coach Nikolai Lapchine.
These videos highlight the particular emphasis or ‘National direction’ that the gymnasts and coaches worked hard on during the clinic.
