WAG Team Future Camp, Canberra, May 25-28, 2015 – further announcements

The WAG Team Future Camp was held in Canberra recently following the National Championships in Melbourne.  Click here for a full clinic round up.

This week the mid-year ‘IDEAL Skills 1000 point club’ and the ‘IDEAL Skills 1500 point club’ have been announced and are listed on the Team Future website. Congratulations to all the girls named.

To be eligible for the ‘IDEAL Skills 1000 points club’ the gymnasts need to be aged turning 10 and 11 years in 2015 and have achieved 1000 points on the IDEAL Skills test on any apparatus.  For the ‘1500 point club’, the gymnasts need to be turning 12 or 13 in 2015 and have to scored 1500 points for more, on any apparatus (note: 2000 on Tumbling). These gymnasts are meeting the national standard expected on the IDEAL Skills test.  Well done to those girls who have made the list and keep working hard girls to achieve the benchmark scores on your next round of IDEAL testing.

The list of Physical Test Champions from the camp for each group has also been announced and can be found on our Team Future web site.

Three video highlights from the camp have been released.

  • Creative Dance’: Following in Team Future Camp tradition watch the gymnasts perform their dance combination that they learned during the clinic with Choreographer – Stacey Umeh.  Enjoy!
  • A day in the life’ a short montage of the typical day at camp.
  • Fantastic skills’ highlight the particular emphasis or ‘National direction’ that the gymnasts and coaches worked hard on during the camp.
