Women's Artistic Gymnastics Learning Opportunity: Beth Rybacki
December 19 & 20, 2017
We are very excited to announce that Waverley Gymnastics Centre (WGC) - in collaboration with Gymnastics Australia - is supporting an exceptional professional development opportunity by having renowned International Coach and High Performance US Club owner, Beth Rybacki, visit WGC in December to conduct a two-day workshop - open to the High Performance gymnastics community - on Tuesday 19 and Wednesday 20 December, 2017.
Beth comes to us with extensive knowledge from powerhouse gymnastics nation; the USA. Beth, along with her husband Steve, is the owner of Gliders Gymnastics Centre, home to both Olympic and World Championship medallists. Over the past two decades Beth has been an integral member of USA gymnastics working alongside the USA National Staff (such as Martha Karoli, Kathy Kelly and more recently Valeri Liuken) developing and leading the American Women's Artistic Gymnastics (WAG) Competitive Gymnastics program to the past two Olympic Team and All-Around gold medals, and dominating World Championships as well as other major international competitions.
Throughout the workshops Beth will primarily be focussing on the artistic preparation that goes into developing a strong athlete within the new code of points, as well as giving guidance on drills and skill progressions for leaps, jumps and turns. Beth will also discuss and show coaches examples on how she constructs Floor and Beam routines, to get appropriate skill combinations for an athlete. She will provide guidance, coaching techniques and feedback with coaches from her interactive sessions. There will also be extensive technical expertise lectures on offer over the two days that will also include periodisation and programs for the Beam and Floor apparatus.
Waverley along with Gymnastics Australia is absolutely thrilled with this amazing opportunity to lift our knowledge as we move into a new Australian system with our athletes.
We would like to extend a huge thankyou to our WGC director/committee and Gymnastics Australia for sanctioning/funding this incredible opportunity.
