Tour Update

In light of the growing concern over the outbreak of Coronavirus Disease (COVID-19), Gymnastics Australia (GA) has made the difficult decision to cancel the upcoming tour to the 2020 WCH and WAGC.

We have been tracking the progress of COVID-19 closely and the significant decisions made by all levels of government over the last 48 hours. These decisions include some of the strictest travel and quarantine restrictions we have seen; making it almost impossible for anyone to travel.

This decision was not made lightly. We have been monitoring advice provided by government organisation, public health units and the World Health Organisation daily to enable us to make an informed and considered decision.

The FIG have postponed both the WCH and WAGC with no new date set as of yet. Once the new dates have been released and they are at a time that is safe for Australia to send a team, GA will of course look at doing so. At GA, the health and wellbeing of our gymnasts and officials is our highest priority as we navigate through this unforeseen and complex environment.
