Broken Hill Gymnastics and Kindergym Club

ACTIVITIES PROVIDED BY ZOE TONKIN - HEAD COACH/SECRETARY
The Broken Hill Gymnastics and Kindergym Club have a great deal planned for GymWeek 2008. The following is a list of what has been planned to date:-

8th - 11th
Attending a competition in Adelaide.

12th - 14th
We are holding a Gymathon where children get sponsors and complete set tasks at training.

15th
We are having a disco followed by a sleepover at the gym.

16th
We are doing a display in our town centre to show-off all our talented gymnasts.

17th - 23rd
All our classes including Kindergym will have an Olympic theme.

24th
We are holding and open day to show off our club and Gymnasts.

Our plan is to involve all gymnasts including Kindergym and advertise all events on local radio and television.

We have also sponsored one MAG and one WAG Olympic gymnasts though the MyHeroes link on the GA website.

We are also going to use the colour-in pages and run a colouring in competition.

Middlemount Junior Gymnastics Club

ACTIVITIES PROVIDED BY REBECCA MAPLE
The Middlemount Junior Gymnastics Club in Queensland is a small after school club. The club has a great group of children and parents who are keen to raise money to ensure equipment is updated. The Club plans to use GymWeek to help with their fund raising. The following is a list of what has been planned to date:-

8th
Holding a Trivia Night themed on the Olympics, with each team representing a country.

The club also plans to run the colouring-in competition.

Venia Gymsports

ACTIVITIES PROVIDED BY KATE JOHNSON
For gym week we hope to celebrate Gymnastics by having a 'mini Olympics'
during training and awarding the girls some gold medals for events such as those listed below and also organising some fun group activities
- long jump
- high jump
- sprinting
- single handed clubs juggle
- most rotations under a hoop throw with catch
- most rotations under a ribbon throw with catch
- most gymnasts we can get in a long jump rope at a time for three jumps
(or more)
- longest cossack balance

and also a fund-raising rotate-a-thon (cartwheels, forward rolls, backward rolls, illusions, walk overs etc)

We will also be tracking our good friend Naazmi Johnston's progress at the Olympics in Rhythmic Gymnastics and also local hero Ben Wilden in the Trampolining event...

It will be a great time for us to enjoy and celebrate Gymnastics!

Terrey Hills KinderGym

ACTIVITIES PROVIDED BY VANESSA
We will be inviting the local communities and press to come and view one of our many Olympic themed action pack and fun filled lessons!

We've got our opening and closing ceremonies all ready and just putting the final touches on our chosen Olympic Sport activities.

Come and see our little budding KinderGym crew swim, sprint, shot put, weightlift and pole vault to name a few of the activities chosen!

Gymnastics SA

ACTIVITIES PROVIDED BY GYMNASTICS SA
Our Gym Abilities program was the first to have an Olympic Theme here in SA.
The children in the photo are doing an acrobatic pyramid.

This group of children have been involved in our GymAbility program for 5 terms.
Their progression in gymnastics is phenomenal. We are now progressing through our "gym for all" program and most of the children are working on level 2.
Last term we had a "gym for all" challenge where the children went through the skill for level one where the group received 3 gold awards, some silver and bronze.
They have had a taste of sport aerobics and sport acrobatics.

Blue Mountains Tumbling and Trampoline Club

ACTIVITIES PROVIDED BY LEAH HENDERSON
I am Head Coach at The Blue Mountains Tumbling & Trampoline Club in Katoomba NSW, we are part of a Sports & Aquatic Centre. Just wanted to inform you our Club will be actively participating in Gym Week this Year. Im very excited to run activities within our centre to promote awareness of our sport and club.

Riverside Gymnastics Club

ACTIVITIES PROVIDED BY PAM SCOTT
The Riverside Gymnastics Club will be celebrating gymweek by the following activities:-

colouring competition, free trial gymfun classes, Trivia night - fund raising event,
Club night - including big screen TV for watching Olympic Games gymnast displays in both WAG and Rhythmic we are hoping for media coverage and have provided a media release to our local newspaper.
