BEIJING OLYMPIC CAMPAIGN OVER FOR OUR ARTISTIC AND TRAMPOLINE TEAM
The 2008 Olympic games campaign is now over for Sam Simpson, Ben
Wilden and the Women's team. All athletes will now enjoy a well
deserved rest and take in the Olympic atmosphere visiting other
events and cheering on their Australian Olympic team mates.
Sam competed earlier in the week and in a very creditable performance
scored 85.625 and finished 39th in a very high standard field. In
the trampoline competition, Ben overcame a nervous start in his
compulsories and performed a great optional routine to finish 13th.
This was not good enough to qualify for the trampoline final but
was a great experience.
The women's team rocked by an injury to Dasha Joura after the second
day in Beijing, recovered well to finish 6th and record Australia's
best team finish at an Olympics. In the all around final Georgia
Bonora (13th) and Shona Morgan (15th) did Australia proud by recording
personal best performances.
