Kitty Chiller AM appointed to IOC Athletes’ Entourage Commission

Following an initial two-year tenure, Gymnastics Australia CEO Kitty Chiller AM has been re-appointed to the International Olympic Committee (IOC) Athlete’s Entourage Commission, recently announced by IOC President, Thomas Bach.

Alongside eight Australians, including Australian Olympic Committee (AOC) President, John Coates AC, Ms Chiller was recognised and appointed to one of 30 IOC Commissions.

“It is an honour to be in a position to continue to serve the Olympic movement, something which I care about very deeply,” said Chiller.

“I have very much enjoyed being a member of the Athlete Entourage Commission, under the Chairmanship of Sergey Bubka for the last two years, and I look forward to contributing again in 2020.”

Australians will play an important role in the work done by the Commissions as the Olympic movement focuses on bringing the world together through sport and gender equality.

Joined by three other Australian women, Ms Chiller is thrilled to see the IOC make a strong commitment to gender equality by significantly increasing the number of women represented on all the Commissions.

Ms Chiller’s commitment to gender equality in sport was recently recognised by the IOC, receiving the IOC Women in Sport Award for Oceania for 2019, one of only 6 global award winners.
