Guidelines & Resources for Online Training

Gymnastics in Australia is committed to the safety, wellbeing, and empowerment of all children accessing our programs and services including indigenous children, those from culturally and linguistically diverse backgrounds and children and adults with disability.

The current situation with the COVID-19 pandemic represents a time where the health, safety and well-being of the children in our sport must still remain our highest priority.

Therefore, Gymnastics Australia with the assistance of Gymnastics New South Wales and Gymnastics Victoria have developed the following resources to help support and provide guidance to affiliated clubs who are looking to deliver virtual programs.

The Guidelines for social media use, video sharing and online collaboration was developed by the Australian Government eSafety Commissioner (eSafety.gov.au) and has been adopted to suit affiliated clubs.

Using social media, video sharing and online collaborative platforms in clubs can benefit athletes during this challenging time. However, it also carries risk. Clubs must carefully consider their unique circumstances and use software, online products and collaboration technologies with the highest safety, privacy and security standards possible.

The Online Safety Self-Assessment Tool is designed for clubs to assess their online safety environment. It provides tailored suggestions to help clubs improve their practices and has also been developed by the Australian Government eSafety Commissioner and tailored for clubs.
