Gymnastics Australia Executive Team

The Gymnastics Australia Executive Leadership Team is responsible for delivering our vision of an inspiring gymnastics experience for every Australian, leading national programs and services across participation, high performance, safeguarding, governance, finance, marketing and commercial development.

David Pryles is an experienced sports executive with a track record of guiding organisations through growth, transformation and periods of significant change. Having served as Chief Executive Officer of both Hockey Australia and Softball Australia, following a successful career in commercial, finance and investment leadership, he brings extensive expertise across governance, high performance sport, stakeholder engagement and organisational leadership. Throughout his career, David has led major transformation initiatives, secured significant government investment and delivered sustainable growth across participation, performance and commercial programs.

As Interim CEO of Gymnastics Australia, David works closely with the Board, State and Territory Associations, athletes, clubs and stakeholders to strengthen the sport and deliver on the ambitions of Inspire 2032.

David Pryles - Interim Chief Executive Officer

David Pryles is an experienced sports executive with a track record of guiding organisations through growth, transformation and periods of significant change. Tom Humphries is an experienced sports executive with expertise in organisational leadership, strategy implementation, product design and operational delivery. He oversees the systems, structures and programs that support Gymnastics Australia's national operations and works closely with the Board, Executive Leadership Team and State and Territory Associations to deliver strategic priorities.

As Chief Operating Officer, his portfolio includes oversight of Corporate Services and Membership Services, ensuring that Gymnastics Australia remains focused on service excellence, collaboration and long-term impact for members and stakeholders across the country.

Tom Humphries - Chief Operating Officer

Tom Humphries is an experienced sports executive with expertise in organisational leadership, strategy implementation, product design and operational delivery. Deb Itzkowic is an experienced governance, safeguarding and integrity leader with more than 20 years' experience across legal practice, investigations, organisational reform and participant protection. Before joining Gymnastics Australia, she held senior leadership roles with Ambulance Victoria, leading integrity, governance and prevention functions in a complex, high-profile environment. Deb is a qualified lawyer, non-executive director and Board Secretary with expertise in safeguarding, complaint management, governance and organisational culture.

At Gymnastics Australia, Deb leads the national safeguarding portfolio, working with clubs, members, State and Territory Associations and national partners to strengthen safe, inclusive and positive environments throughout the gymnastics community. Her work focuses on safeguarding strategy, integrity education, child safety and participant wellbeing, helping ensure gymnastics remains a welcoming and trusted sport for all Australians.

Deb Itzkowic - General Manager Safeguarding

Deb Itzkowic is an experienced governance, safeguarding and integrity leader with more than 20 years' experience across legal practice, investigations, organisational reform and participant protection. Before joining Gymnastics Australia, she held senior leadership roles with Ambulance Victoria, leading integrity, governance and prevention functions in a complex, high-profile environment. Deb is a qualified lawyer, non-executive director and Board Secretary with expertise in safeguarding, complaint management, governance and organisational culture. Jade Peace is an experienced executive and Australian Legal Practitioner who joined Gymnastics Australia after a legal career in fintech, banking and property. With experience in business operations, people management, technology, risk & compliance, audit, employment law, privacy and cyber, she now leads Gymnastics Australia's Corporate Services portfolio. Bringing together finance, people and culture, risk management (including insurance), digital systems, project management and organisational infrastructure, Jade plays a central role in supporting organisational performance and ensuring staff and stakeholders have the systems and support required to deliver high-quality services. She is known for her practical, solutions-focused leadership and her commitment to building a positive and high-performing workplace culture.

Jade Peace is an experienced executive and Australian Legal Practitioner who joined Gymnastics Australia after a legal career in fintech, banking and property. With experience in business operations, people management, technology, risk & compliance, audit, employment law, privacy and cyber, she now leads Gymnastics Australia's Corporate Services portfolio. Steven Campbell is a highly experienced sport development leader who joined Gymnastics Australia from Gymnastics Queensland, where he served as General Manager, Club and Sport Development. He brings extensive expertise in participation growth, workforce development, club support, stakeholder engagement and member services. He holds a Master of Science in Sport Management from the University of Stirling and has led major sport development and facility planning initiatives throughout his career.

Steven leads Gymnastics Australia's Membership Services portfolio, overseeing participation growth, club development, workforce education, member engagement and relationships with State and Territory Associations. His focus is on ensuring clubs and members remain at the centre of decision-making while driving national alignment, innovation and sustainable growth across the sport.

Steven Campbell - General Manager Membership Services

Steven Campbell is a highly experienced sport development leader who joined Gymnastics Australia from Gymnastics Queensland, where he served as General Manager, Club and Sport Development. As General Manager Marketing & Commercial, Murray leads Gymnastics Australia's brand, communications, events, digital engagement and commercial partnerships. He brings expertise in brand strategy, sponsorship, fan engagement and commercial growth, helping elevate the profile of gymnastics and create new opportunities for the sport, clubs and athletes.

Murray Waterson - General Manager Marketing & Commercial

Murray joined Gymnastics Australia in late 2025 following senior marketing and commercial leadership roles with The Gemba Group and GPC Asia Pacific. A graduate of Melbourne Business School's MBA program, he has delivered integrated brand campaigns, sponsorship programs and commercial partnerships for leading organisations including Toyota, Nike, Repco and Foxtel. Steve Foley is a highly respected high-performance leader and Olympian who oversees Gymnastics Australia's national high performance system. He brings extensive experience in athlete development, performance pathways, wellbeing and elite sport environments, and has been instrumental in shaping Australia's high performance plans leading towards Brisbane 2032.

Steve leads national team programs, athlete wellbeing initiatives, international campaigns, workforce development and performance pathways across all gymnastics disciplines. His leadership combines a strong focus on athlete wellbeing with a commitment to building world-class systems that support sustained success on the international stage.
